Elmer Bernstein Tribute Concert

This was posted by George Komar to the same FSM board thread that yielded the "This is Your Life" segment I posted yesterday.
Official Research Channel Synopsis:

The Thornton School of Music orchestras celebrated the career of screen composer Elmer Bernstein in an event hosted by KUSC-FM personality Jim Svejda. The tribute concert featured the USC Thornton Orchestra and the USC Thornton Jazz Orchestra performing selections from several memorable film scores from Bernstein's long and illustrious career. Mr. Bernstein, a former faculty member of the USC Thornton School, composed for both movies and television and is noted for many classic soundtracks including The Ten Commandments and The Grifters.

WORK SAFE

The suite Peter conducts has some delicious appetizers of The Journey of Natty Gann, which will be included in Varèse Sarabande's new Elmer Bernstein Box Set.

For those who are wondering, Otto Preminger's The Man with the Golden Gun was, in fact, the little-seen prequel to The Man with the Golden Arm. Apparently, all copies of this masterpiece were destroyed due to embarrassing legal proceedings with the Ian Fleming estate in 1974. We are only left with the sequel, The Man with the Golden Arm, which was much less searing and intense.

I have no idea if La La Land plans another release in their Farscape Classics series, but if they did, I certainly hope that Guy Gross would consider some the latter two scores from the "Liars, Guns and Money" trilogy.
