Pixar has kept getting better, and if The Incredibles doesn't have quite the same emotional power that Finding Nemo does, it more than makes up for it with its sprightly narrative and the amiability of its protagonists. In fact, one of the first things Raz and I discussed while leaving the theater was speculations about a sequel. I don't think anybody who sees it is not going to want to see another.
One of the most interesting things about this film is that, like Nemo, this film is different from its forebears in that it is not a comedy that happens to be an digital cartoon. This is an adventure film first (and is rather violent at times for a Disney release) that happens to be very funny.
The voice casting is phenomenal, the designs are arresting, Michael Giacchino's John Barry-esque score is superfun (way to go for his first big feature project!), the 'scope ratio is used wonderfully, the animation is brilliant... the movie is just pure entertainment.
Go see it or I go to your house and shave your cats. It'll definitely make you feel better.
