Conan the King (Conan the Barbarian)

Opening Doors

Well, I was wondering whether I'd be able to multitask in terms of writing, but tonight I had a double whammy inspiration for both Ecology and another project I've been working on simultaneously. Both are broad concept changes, but both also offer a great amount of clarity on how to handle them. I'm bouncing the latter idea off of that collaborator now, and hoping to get in touch with suitboyskin for the former soon.

That's right, nine inches, baby!

I'm happy to say that suitboyskin has written up his piece on his Oz trilogy from Buffy the Vampire Slayer ("Phases," "Wild At Heart" and "New Moon Rising") and the results, despite his self-effacing caveats, are quite fun.

Meanwhile, dotificus is asking people about their favorite childhood books and is getting some interesting responses. Check it out.

9", Oak, Unicorn

You scored 36 wisdom, 22 bravery, 42 emotional, and 11 martyrdom!

Oak signifies wisdom, endurance, protection, and authority. Your
unicorn's tail hair core means that you are pure of heart and care
deeply for your loved ones.

My test tracked 4 variables How you compared to other people your age and gender:

I'm not sure how well this other collaboration (not the one with suitboyskin is going to go. It looks as though my first really substantial suggestion is going to be shot down without any consideration. The collaborator said something about "contributing writer," and while that works for magazines, I'm not sure how well it will work for a screenplay.

Lattice of coincidence...

Movie Quote of the Week

Repo Man

A lot o' people don't realize what's really going on. They view life as a bunch o' unconnected incidents 'n things. They don't realize that there's this, like, lattice o' coincidence that lays on top o' everything. Give you an example; show you what I mean: suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.

You eat a lot of acid, Miller, back in the hippie days?

This got brought up because of a post on the Film Score Monthly message board about Elia Kazan and a screening of A Streetcar Named Desire and I had been listening to the score only a little while ago. Plate of shrimp indeed...
Conan the King (Conan the Barbarian)

So much for waiting...

I went into the bookstore today to see if they had the latest issue of The Perfect Vision and saw that there was a new Orson Scott Card novel out.

Well, this being Card, I'll probably be done with it by Saturday.

I'm trying to figure this out...

Why am I your friend?
How long have we known each other?
Where did we meet?
What was your first impression of me?
Do you know me well or do you
wish we knew each other better?

Post this in your own journal and I'll answer back.

I have everything tagged through my return to work. That's the bulk of it, but there's still two more years to go...
