Rube (Dead Like Me)

"I'm not a coward, Zod."

Yoinked from janetweiss69:

Most of the time when I send out parcels, I use the automated machines at the post office. They're fast, efficient and get the job done with little waiting. They do not, however, do international orders. For that you have to stand in line.

For over an hour.

Apparently it was some sort of corporate tax thingee yesterday, and that impacted the post office by not having enough people around to work the line. I don't know what was worse, having to wait, or having to hear people bitch about it. I fail to see how incessantly complaining to others on the line about a situation like this one is going to help at all, it just makes everyone around you - who are in the same boat as you - more annoyed. Maybe such people are looking for some sort of validation? I don't know.

My solution - elegant in its simplicity - was to put on my headphones and listen to the new mix (which is complete, track listing and liner notes to be posted shortly).

Every once and a while somebody would come in and try to head straight for one of the tellers to skip the line, but the postal workers weren't having any of that. This scene from Dead Like Me kept running through my mind:
