Made It

I got through July 3rd [EDIT: save a minor error in judgement which is being rectified] with nothing terrible happening.

Of course, there is also a fallout question, as nothing is quite that simple, is it?

So I'm waiting for a shoe to drop. I plan to keep today on the DL as well.

On the other hand, I'm not due into work until 4:00 PM tomorrow, so I can stay up late tonight. Sunday nights are a great night for watching movies, after all, and even though it's a Monday, it's still a Sunday. I've still got The Life and Death of Peter Sellers with Geoffrey Rush (interesting!) and Robert Altman's Buffalo Bill and the Indians (one of the few Altman films from the 70s I haven't seen) from Netflix, as well as some movies a friend from work loaned me. Plus, if it's as nice a night as it was last night, I could put on the Nomad and take a nice, long walk.

The issues I have with the fencing mix are still plaguing me. No, I'm not giving up on the project, but this might take a while. Once again, it is a matter of sensory overload; too much loud music without dynamic will tire a listener out before too long. This is a problem I'm quite aware of that exists with the Sweeping Adventurous Heroic Shit albums that I made for Tim as well as my Risk mixes. The latter work in context, but even them I had to break up with more subdued material; since Risk is a political game as well in many respects, it was appropriate. The fencing mix, that's a bit more difficult. I'm also beating down the temptation to open it with Conan saying, "Crush your enemies, see them driven before you and hear the lamentations of their women."

Oh well.

It's so nice having paid days off again.
