Winding down an unwound weekend

I spent the weekend at my parents' house and enjoyed a rather peaceful time save for moments when Zach got a bit too frisky and one very strange outburst from whosamama. There was a lot of Battlestar Galactica too, which they haven't seen.

My only caveat: I really wish I could have taken that Italian food home... MOM.

So I'm back home and checking out more of Tanner '88, which is really, really good. It feels like what it is: a really long Robert Altman film shot on video. Garry Trudeau's touch can be felt here and there as well. I've changed my queue so that Tanner on Tanner is next up; there are framing sequences on the Tanner '88 DVDs that have the characters reflecting on the events in the series as it unfolds from twelve years later. On review I read of it said "Republican slandering," so it's got that going for it.
