"It's mostly Maui Waui man, but it's got some Labrador in it."
I've been putting together my review for the complete Fellowship, which is turning out to be harder than I thought it would be. Not so much because I don't have a lot to talk about, but because I'm trying to be as definitive about it as possible without repeating myself. I have to take some of my previous journal entries on the topic and adapt aspects of them. This is not as lazy as it sounds. Really.
It really is a matter of reducing my feelings about the score to their bare essentials, which is made difficult not only by the associations I have with the music (which nobody reading the review will care about, but is a cornerstone of this journal) but also by the sheer amount of music that I'm covering.
If you haven't been able to tell, I'm having a great time doing it.
