The Passion and Glory of the Gloved One

Okay, so the day before yesterday I went to the dermatologist about the strange rash my hand. She prescribed a couple of ointments and told me to wear a cotton glove to keep the ointment on the hand and the rest of the world out. Wearing the glove means that the hand itself is getting a lot less irritated by the world in general. It is much more comfortable than having it exposed, and doesn't get itchy all the time.

This is a great concept, but I have to live in the real world, and walking around with a white glove on in Manhattan is a little weird. No, it's really weird. When I tried putting the black glove on over it, well, let's just say that didn't work out to well either (not least of which because it made my hand hot and sweaty, which isn't too good for it). Yeah, it was like trying to be macho while drinking through a straw.

It also doesn't help that the only cotton gloves they had at the store when I went to fulfill my prescriptions had little purple flowers on them.

Now, I can't really blame any of the guys for making fun of me wearing a cotton glove with little purple flowers on it. If one of them had come in wearing a cotton glove with little purple flowers on it, I'd have been making fun of them too. It just happens to be my turn in the barrel this time around.
