When I first heard the title Snakes on a Plane, I figured that it had to be some sort of metaphor for something. Then I saw the trailer and couldn't believe that they actually meant it. Then I somehow managed to get talked into seeing the movie with my stepfather.
I liked it.

Yeah, it's completely retarded, and yeah, the title tells you the story. However, it is executed with an infectious twinkle in its eye. It's not terribly scary, but it is thrilling, and, more importantly, funny as all hell. And Samuel L. Jackson gets to shout a bit towards the end. I'd even admit to Trevor Rabin's score being pretty fun in context of the movie were it not for the fact that such an admission would cause me intense embarrassment.
The film is just a big B movie, and it is extremely unpretentious about it. Therein lies much of its charm. It is basically about watching a bunch of snakes on a plane gradually take down the crew and passengers, but it is clear that the people making the film are having a blast doing it, and the twisted sense of humor that is infused into the film makes it a real fun ride. It is certainly worth seeing with an enthusiastic audience.
But you damn well better leave your brain at home.
