Mad At The World

...and I don't know why.

I had a great day at work, listening to music all day and reading. Towards the end of the day, for some reason, I just started getting pissy.

Everything that has annoyed me about anybody I know just started coming out. Then, on the way home, I got caught in traffic. There's nothing like getting stuck in traffic to piss me off even more. Then my stereo malfunctioned (it is now working properly), so I couldn't play CDs, and they were only playing shitty music on the radio.

Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue.

However, I have a new haircut just in time for the new term to start on Monday.

Once Upon A Time In The West
(C'era una volta il West)

There are few movies in the world quite as good as Once Upon A Time In The West, and I just wish to take this opportunity to recommend Paramount's absolutely eye-popping DVD of the film. This is one of the best looking discs in my entire collection, and Tonino Delli Colli's Techniscope photography of Monument Valley is some of the best in cinema history.

The remastered 5.1 track basically gives a little extra dimension to the film, but Ennio Morricone's classic score has never sounded better.

A great cast and awesome production values have made this, Sergio Leone's most mythic creation, a bonafide classic, and the new DVD gives it the attention it deserves.
