The Friday of Destruction!!!

Actually, it's just a regular Friday, but everything sounds so much more dramatic when accompanied by such terms as "death," "pain" and "destruction."

I was appointed by Russ as Master of Desserts for last night. I brought over some kataifi, galaktoburrikos and chocolate baklava (yes, I said chocolate baklava, as in "you know, the only way to make baklava any better would be to put chocolate in it" baklava), which were a real big hit.

I've noticed that there's a lot of music on the Pan's Labyrinth album that wasn't in the film. This is interesting considering how well I thought the music came across in the film; nevertheless, this album is one of my favorites of 2006 (even though I didn't hear it until 2007). I love how the 'magical' elements of the score will segue seamlessly into something darker and vice-versa, and the cue "Not Human," which scores the Pale Man sequence, is great, white-knuckle stuff.
