That means that I had to take tomorrow off, so as long as I don't get a heart attack causing figure from the guy at the shop (and even then, a friend at work has told me that it shouldn't cost more than fifty dollars, so if this should turn out to be awfully expensive, I'll go see his guy (the drawback being that Charlie lives on Staten Island, a fact which he is justifiably embarrassed about), I should have a fairly pleasant day off tomorrow with some fantastic weather.
I've been enjoying a discussion about comedy scores over at the FSM board for no reason other than that when I scan that list, all those delightful themes bounce through my head. Frankly, even I wanted to be in a bad mood about The Bronze Mist, I wouldn't have been able to with Ernest Gold's It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World, Jerry Goldsmith's The Great Train Robbery or John Addison's Sleuth themes bouncing through my head.
Like anybody else who is sane, I've been holding back on either HD disc format. They need to come down in price to something reasonable and I'd like to see either a clear winner or affordable combi-players. However... reading that The Road Warrior has not only been put out in both formats... but reportedly looks amazing... I really, really want to get one, damn it. I have the TV for it already, but since I don't have cable, I have never seen a true HD image on it, only progressive scan DVD, laserdiscs and once, just for shits and giggles, a videotape.
