When the going gets tough, the tough get Toughbooks

To my immense surprise, Frank gave me back my work laptop today (they replaced the back cover, hard drive and any of the keys upon which the letters had been rubbed off). This is very advantageous for several reasons, including a conversation I was hoping to be able to have on Thursday.

However, what I am most intrigued by is that before I got this laptop, I could go to work with a small side bag that would hold a book and a few other things in. While I had, in the past, come to work with a backpack, that was because I needed room for the banks of minidiscs and later mp3 CDs... when bought the Creative Nomad, I went from removable media to hard-drive based music, which meant that I didn't need to lug so many things around with me. Now that I'll have the laptop for work and the other for home, I no longer need to bring my laptop with me to work. I am perfectly capable of surfing the net at work with the work laptop... I'm doing so right now. I can use my flash drive if I really need to transfer any files between the them.

The only problem with this scenario is that I bring a pair of jeans to work with me in the summer in case I need to go to the office as we are technically not supposed to wear shorts to work, but I'm a loner. A rebel.
