“A car horn is a means of communication, that is to say, if you need to get a message across really quickly when you're in a car to the the other drivers, so that pedestrian that's about to run into the street or whatever... you know, or even stopping in front of somebody's house and letting them know that you're there, waiting for them to come out.
These are all standard uses for a car horn; it is not intended for you to vent your frustrations in heavy traffic. In fact all you accomplish by honking your horn in heavy traffic is making the people around you more frustrated. Because there is no, absolutely no chance that if you honk your horn - especially if you're leaning on the horn, like hoooooooooooooooooooooooonk - there's absolutely no chance that somebody with an audible range of your horn will hear that horn and say, "Well I better take matters into my own hands!" and do some sort if crazy maneuver with their car that will clear up traffic for miles in both directions. It just doesn't happen that way.
Frankly, I wish that I could have a flame thrower on the top of my car to take out people like that.”
