I have located a replacement battery for the iAudio. This means that there would be no advantage to getting the iPod... I just now have to find a replacement control stick for the item and I'll be totally happy with it again. I really can't express how much easier life is with the remote control. It certainly makes the work that goes into creating mixes much easier, as I can easily navigate from one folder to another with only one hand. You can do that by taking the device out of your pocket, but what a pain in the ass! I know I have been spoiled with the Sony Minidisc player I had, the iRiver and the iAudio X5, but I don't understand why an LCD remote is not a standard feature on all hard disc players. Oh, and that remote for the iPod is a piece of flimsy crap.

I also just ordered replacement cushions for my beloved Sennheiser HD 280 Pro headphones, which have lasted almost three years by now, and that's with me taking them to work every day and abusing the shit out of them while making mixes. The only issue is that the covering has starting to come off of the foam on the padding, and the phones are starting to look a little grody (although they are as comfortable as ever).
