I'm baaaaaaaaaack...

My internet went out yesterday, an infuriating development because I had plans I couldn't fulfill. It also appears that there is some serious shit going on in some people's lives (you know who you are, you can call me if you like).

On top of that, there was the simple not having no internet thing, which can be annoying. There are other ways for one to check one's account balances, for example, but few as easy and convenient as being online.

Anyway, I moved (part of) my home theater from one room to another, and now it is much, much, more comfortable to sit and watch movies than the makeshift system I had put together. It's not perfect (I haven't been able to hook of the surround back speakers, for example), but the basics are all together.

On another note, during the moving process, I uncovered these The Adventures of Thirok: The Straphanging Barbarian™ cartoons. These were drawn about four years ago; I was inspired partly by the diversity one sees on the New York subway system, but also a certain amount of wish fulfillment (see the "Thwock!" cartoon under the cut). The conceit was simple: Thirok™ is a standard, run of the mill barbarian who, like so many others, has to commute to work.

Well, I thought it was funny anyway...
