"One toke? You poor fool! Wait till you see those goddamn bats."

I have not been getting much in the way of sleep this week. It hasn't been for any specific reason, just keeping strange hours. And that does, of course, mean that I am particularly susceptible to those white-hot tantrums I've been known to have. I am quite glad that I am at this moment self-aware enough to be in some control of this, as there were a few moments over the course of the week that I've wanted to choke the living shit out of somebody. I've also been idly contemplating tracking down the people who wrote the vMobile program for the BlackBerry and force-feeding them the flesh of their still-living children. And don't get me started on what I would do to the iTunes people. However, even though it would mean ridding the gene pool of some elements that are best cast off and forgotten, I am a peaceful man.

Actually... I've had some good IM chats this week, and I've been listening to a lot of good music; these National Geographic scores are really neat (I picked up the third one because I loved "The Great Whales" from the Gerhardt album of Holdridge scores, and ended up picking up the first two when the low quantity alerts showed up), I finally have The Stunt Man on CD, albeit with the stereo channels reversed, Excelsior! is still going strong. I haven't made much headway into restoring the missing music on the general library, but I've filled in the blanks on my mixes. As long as I don't have to deal with too many people, I'm perfectly capable of being in a good mood.

The road work that they're doing in my neighborhood has wreaked havoc with the bus lines. In order to make a detour around a single block, they often have to go way out of their way because of their turning radius. This morning a major delay was caused by some road work that had not been accounted for with the MTA, backing up the Q26 line.

I will soon be adding several terms to the commuter's lexicon.
