He actually passed on the 15th, but the information wasn't made public until more recently. Michael Mattessino posted on the FSM board how pleased he was at the positive reception the long-awaited release of Superman IV: The Quest for Peace enjoyed once the Blue Box was released; my You'll Believe A Man Can Fly compilation is almost complete and will now be dedicated to his memory.
He has done orchestrations on some of my favorite film scores; he also had a hand in countless classic musicals. And his Star Trek theme will go on forever.
